Mr Pumpkin Head has two circles for his eyes and a flickering light inside? Mr Scarecrow is waiting in the corn field for the pecking birds? Autumn Leaves are red, gold, yellow and brown? Or that squirrels are collecting acorns?

You definitely will know these things if you were at our Foundation Stage Harvest Assembly this morning. Our youngest children sang with confidence and smiling faces to a hall full of their parents and grandparents. Jenny and Jane-Anne also came to assembly and told us all about the St Albans Food Bank and how they help families who may not have enough money to provide food for every meal of the week. They thanked our parents for the kind donations and had to make several trips to their car because we had so many items!

I am very proud of how quickly the Foundation Stage children have settled into school life at Bernards Heath and how many song words, with actions, they have learnt. Some children had also taught their parents the actions to ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’!     Mrs Rimmer – Deputy Head
