Today was the first of our Year 1 Class Assemblies. Churchill Class took to the floor, microphone in hand and told their grown ups all about their learning from this half term.
They read aloud stories from Diwali and Hannukah (both with happy endings) the children have been learning about the theme of light in religious stories.
Children also shared their maths, we had a demonstration of the marble machine, a really helpful game for learning about partitioning tens and ones.
There was a science theme to today’s assembly, the children talked confidently about investigations they have carried out and reported their findings. The chemical reactions of the Alka Seltzer and water in a pot simulated a rocket launch and surprised the audience (some people even gave a little scream)! We enjoyed videos recorded on the visit to the Science Museum and found out a bit more about the exciting things children found out while they were there.
Thanks Churchil Class, Mr Wilson and Mrs Southeard for all your hard work, we really enjoyed hearing about your learning!
