Home School Triangle

From your child’s earliest days at Bernards Heath, staff will be making assessments and observations of learning. Many of these will be made during lesson and play times and staff will share them with you at regular times throughout the year.

We formally meet with you in the spring and summer terms when you will have an appointment to meet with your child’s class teacher and learn about the progress your child has made. At the end of the spring term your child will bring home their report to share with you.

Our teachers are available to meet with parents most days after school so if you have a question or want to have chat about your child’s progress in advance of a more formal meeting, just make an appointment with the teacher either directly with them or through the school office.

We are keen to know the views of our parents and as such we have an open door to you. You are always welcome to make appointments to see the Head Teacher to talk through concerns and successes.

Ofsted have an internet site called “Parent View” and parents are encouraged to log in and share their views of the school. Once registered you need to answer 12 questions. We use the results of this survey to inform our work. Click the link on the right to access “Parent View” now.

Every summer we launch our own school questionnaire which updates parents on our work within the School Development Plan, asks for parental thoughts on how we can develop and improve the school further as well as a questionnaire which closely follows the Parent View site.

Seeking parents’ views enables the Leadership Team and Governors to quality assure our work and identify actions.
